Lisbon is easy to get to. It is a short flight away from most European cities, and some others in different continents. Lisbon International Airport, 7 km from the city centre, has daily flights to and from the major cities in Europe and the world. The Portuguese airline TAP - Air Portugal, as well as major international airlines, fly to and from Lisbon.
TAP is the CMS2014 conference official carrier, and it offers a 10% discount in economy class and a 20% discount in business class, for all conference participants and accompanying persons. To benefit from that discount, participants have to proceed with flight reservation directly using the TAP website. Please refer to detailed instructions here, where you'll find the correct discount code.
The Lisbon International airport, Aeroporto da Portela, is conveniently close to both the venue and the majority of recomended accomodations. In the following map, you can see the location of the airport, as well as the location of the venue (blue marker).
In order to enter in Portugal, citizens of the European Union simply require a valid citizen card. For citizens of several countries outside of Europe (e. g. Australia, Canada and the USA) a valid passport is sufficient. In the case a visa is required, don't forget to request it in advance at the Portugal Embassy/Consulate in your country, in accordance with normal Portuguese visa procedures.
